Deaf women, tell me ... A film 100% accessible: fully signed (LSQ), fully subtitled in English, fully audible in French.

"Traditionally, hearing people are the ones doing research, writing books, and making movies about Deaf people. What kind of stories would Deaf people tell about their lives, perceptions, and experiences, if they had the chance? I am a Deaf woman, yet no one told me about the history of the Deaf. I met many Deaf women and asked them to tell me their life stories. My story. They attended the first and only school for Deaf girls in Quebec and New Brunswick, the Institute of Deaf-Mutes of Montreal, led by the Sisters of Providence, in operation between 1851 and 1975. The Deaf women of this generation know all about their history. They share a common history, a common language. They have told me their story; now they will tell you." -Marie-Andreé Boivin
